Long time gone!

Thought of starting writing again, thanks to some friendly nudging by a colleague.
The CSNY song (now playing) kind of summarizes.

My new Ibanex GRG 170 DX :)

After spending a year on a sad, substandard semi-acoustic guitar I finally bought this baby. I am no pro but still feel it is a value for money beginners electric guitar at Rs 13.7 ks. Other guitars I tried were GRG 270 (15 ks), Schecter Omen 6 FR (16 ks), Squire Bullet Strat (8 ks), some Cort guitar. I settled on this one considering the price and the "non FR bridge for cheap guitar" thing. I initially had Ephiphone Les Paul eco model on mind but sadly they dont sell it here in India :(.

Anyways, now the praises :). Very low action (good for rookies like me), sounds nice and acoustic-guitarish on single coil pickup, decent fretboard, low string gauge and elastic strings (makes it easy to bend) and ofcourse the sexy black gloss finish :P. The only cons I think are the lack of a FR tremolo and ordinary humbuckers maybe.

Trying to learn some blues and rock now :).

Oh and the amp i bought was Roland Cube-15X.  Has clean and overdrive channels and 4 modes for od.
